THERMAL CONTROL THAT ELEVATES MMA AND PMMA PROCESS PERFORMANCE
Acrylics (MMA/PMMA) Application
Stable Heat Transfer For Monomer Synthesis, Precision Purification, Polymerization, And Recycling-Ready Acrylic Operations
In Acrylics (MMA/PMMA) production, heat-transfer fluid performance is critical across both monomer manufacturing and polymer processing. MMA process routes can combine high-temperature oxidation at about 380°C and 1 bar with downstream oxidative esterification near 50°C, absorber operation around 34.2°C, and energy-intensive purification trains where double-effect distillation helps deliver 99.9% MMA purity while reducing reboiler and condenser duty. In PMMA production, continuously circulated thermal oil in coil-jacket reactors is used to supply or remove heat and maintain a specific polymerization temperature, ensuring stable conversion, constant discharge temperature, and better product quality. For recycling-oriented acrylic plants, PMMA depolymerization to MMA may run from about 350°C to 425°C, so the fluid portfolio must cover both moderate and high-duty thermal loops.Eurotherm 330offers -49 to 315°C service, 4.04 mm²/s viscosity at 40°C, and a -68°C pour point for cold starts, preheating, and responsive circulation.Eurotherm 320provides a cost-effective -30 to 320°C range for routine reactor, synthesis, and distillation duty.Eurotherm 350andEurotherm THTextend operation to 350°C with low system pressure and exceptional thermal stability for higher-temperature monomer or recycle sections.RÜTGERS Ruetaflex 1000adds -55 to 330°C coverage with low viscosity for large closed-loop systems, whileRÜTGERS Ruetasolv BP-Dsupports demanding continuous service with low-pour-point, low-viscosity, high-temperature stability up to 350°C.
